It is with great sadness that ADA reports the sudden death of Nick Lyness on 2nd January. Nick was one of those energetic, enthusiastic, personable and optimistic characters that our industry and profession so depended on and respected for his integrity, knowledge and professionalism. Nick not only played a vital part in the management of drainage, water level and flood risk issues in his local Wessex area but was also very much involved in shaping the world of Flood & Coastal Risk Management as we know it today. His soft Ulster lilt and humour, often weaved into his welcome challenges to established ways of thinking will be greatly missed by his friends and colleagues and on behalf of all members who knew him, ADA extend their heartfelt sympathies to his widow Carolyn and the rest of the family.
