ADA is seeking candidates to become ADA Committee members in 2020, to help direct and contribute to ADA’s work championing and campaigning for the sustainable delivery of water level management.
Both ADA’s Policy & Finance Committee and Technical & Environmental Committee ably advise ADA on a broad range of matters affecting our members work, helping us to develop guidance, advice and support, and better informing the general public. Committee members are often invited to represent ADA at important national meetings.
Becoming a Committee Member will broaden your understanding of flood and water management in the UK. It can help with your own professional development, enable you to shape policy matters, and allow you to engage with a range of key national stakeholders.
Each Committee typically meets three times a year, either in London or by teleconference. Reasonable travel expenses to attend meetings and represent the Association are paid by ADA.
Members of both Committees serve terms of three years. For 2020 each Committee has two vacancies to be filled by candidates from across ADA’s membership. We are always on the lookout for a range of skills to complement the existing Committee membership.
This year we have identified that each Committee would especially benefit from candidates possessing knowledge and expertise in any of the following areas:
If you would like to get involved please read the ADA Committees Guide and then email admin@ada.org.uk with:
Candidates should submit their interest by email to admin@ada.org.uk before 17.00, Friday 29 November 2019. If you would like to learn more please call Ian Moodie on 02476 992889.
In December 2019 nominations will be reviewed by: ADA’s Chairman, Chief Executive, and the Chairs of both Committees. Successful candidates will be informed before the end of that month, and invited to attend the next ADA Committee meetings taking place on 8 January 2019 at CIWEM Venue, Farringdon, London.
